Hiring a professional videographer and/or photographer will mean the difference between great long lasting memories captured forever on DVD or print media, or indeed some average photographs in a scrap book and/or shakey hand-held video footage by a family member or friend.

What I’m trying to say is you only have one day and one chance to ensure all the magical events are captured and preserved forever more.

Now of course, I can offer you this in the form of video and DVD. But every now and then whilst I’m filming weddings, I meet photographers who are a cut above the rest and so I am more than happy to let you know about them too.

One such photographer is Brad Walker.  I met Brad whilst shooting Lauren & Correy’s wedding video in June. 

As I’m the video guy, and traditionally it is the photographer who directs the bridal party photos, I normally stand back and capture video footage from afar.  I was impressed with the way Brad organised his photos and worked with Lauren & Correy’s crew to create some truly beautiful scenes.  I love working with photographers like Brad because it means that I capture some beautifully composed scenes for my video too.

Lauren and Correy chose my wedding package 2.

I started at Lauren’s place and captured some beautiful footage of her and her girls having their photos done.  I worked in sync throughout the day with Lauren and Correy’s photographer, Brad, which meant everything was timed nicely to get the perfect shots for us both.

Then it was time to meet Correy and his boys at the Church.  The weather was slightly overcast which provided some stunning shots of the groom and his men as they played up for the camera and posed in a very cool, red convertible.

A lovely ceremony, followed by a photo shoot at the city botanical gardens before finally everyone arriving at Royal on the Park for a fantastic reception.  The speeches were very entertaining and the meals were delicious.  I had a fantastic time sharing the happy couples special day and I’m very much looking forward to editing this DVD.

It was an intimate ceremony with close friends and family. The bride arrived on a Harley and the happy couple also poured two glasses of sand into a glass bottle shaped like a heart.

I’m very happy to say my Mother not only looked beautiful, but she did a fantastic job on her very first ceremony and I was a very proud son.

Lee told me he was ‘sick in the gutz’ from his nerves, but he looked cool, calm and collected on film! 

Rebecca and Lee were married at Dockside, Kangaroo Point.  An overcast day made it hard to predict the weather, so the ceremony was held undercover with the Brisbane river providing a great backdrop.

The photoshoot was held along the jetty and shortly after the newlyweds made their entrance to the cocktail reception.  Some great heartfelt speeches, followed by the traditional cutting of the cake, garter and bouquet and of course the bridal waltz made for an entertaining evening.

Despite the unpredictable weather, I really enjoyed filming Kristen & Michael’s wedding.  I shot some stunning scenes during Kristen’s preparations and some great interactions with the bridal party afterwards during the photo shoot, held at St Lucia University.

A relaxed and easy going reception took us through till late with some of the nicest and most genuine speeches I’ve heard in a long time!  All in all I’m very happy with the DVD and would like to thank Kristen and Michael for having me video their wedding!

I’m really happy with the footage and production overall.  A 2 DVD set, my day started with Adrian and his family where I filmed some of his preparations and photo shoot, before moving on to Amanda’s house where she was with her girls for some more prep footage.

Amanda & Adrian were married in the beautiful Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Rosalie, which made a stunning background for the post ceremony family photos.  The photo shoot ensued, before we all made our way to the reception.

A great day and another lovely wedding.  Congrats to you both!

The ceremony was just perfect and it wasn’t long before friends and family were celebrating with the happy couple outside the church.  Then we headed to the University of St Lucia for a photo shoot which was directed by Yohti.  Another great sequence of shots and lots of fun interactions provided me with some great footage.

The fun continued at the reception with the official arrivals, the speeches, the cake, the waltz, the bouquet and of course the garter!

The day started at Brisbane’s Botanical Gardens where I first met Ben and his Groomsmen.  I had just finished filming the initial preparations and setting up of the outdoors ceremony location when the guests began to arrive.

Ben greeted all his friends and family as the ceremony starting time ticked closer.  A beautiful day with lots of sunshine made for some crystal clear shots with lots of colour.

Janelle arrived and the ceremony was short and sweet.  Photos with friends and family followed, ending with some great shots of the bridal party as the stunt planes of the Riverfire Festival began their manouvres in the sky.

A very classy reception was held at the Port Office Hotel with a great live band and some entertaining speeches brought the easy going wedding to a stylish end.  Thanks to Ben and Janelle for having me video their wedding!

I started at Dan’s place, filming his preparations with his groomsmen and family.  Then I visited Tanya at her home with her bridesmaids and family and got some lovely footage of her preparations also.

The ceremony was at Graceville Uniting Church and it was followed by a photo session and reception at Victoria Park at Herston.

I had a great time filming their wedding and I’m really happy with the DVD.  Thanks Dan & Tan for a fun day and great meal at the reception too!
